During your Internship

Now that you have successfully passed the internship interview, you are ready to start your internship. Here is some useful information and guidelines to make the best out of your internship experience.

Part of the reason you need to have an internship is to build good work habits. Having a good work habit is going play a very important role in your career. It will also impress your employer and as a result you may be offered a full time position there.

Write a journal, keep note of your work. Email it to your immediate supervisor and boss regualriy. Let your supervisor know of your work progress, inform them before they ask. This will give them time to plan your next project. Show your appreciation even for small things. People help who they want to help, showing appreciation from your heart will come back to you 10 times or more.

Good supervisors will check and make sure you are doing to well, have challenging work but yet not too hard for the level of your competence. Ask your supervisor to spend 5 to 10 minutes with you every 4 weeks. This will let you have his or her un-divided attention. If you have any report(s) to be signed by your school, bring them with you.
